Hanesbrands Inc. chief executive officer Richard Noll proclaimed last July that “the era of apparel deflation is now over.” With higher costs for cotton, labor and transportation already baked into plans for the year, and at least nominally higher prices in the second half a virtual certainty, executives will be faced with a choice between passing along increases and risking sales or absorbing them and jeopardizing their margins.
