Textile solutions provider Unifi said today it has appointed Eddie Ingle to vice president of global corporate sustainability and general manager of recycled chip and flake. Ingle will continue in his role as the vice president of the supply chain.
Ingle has worked for the company for more than 30 years, beginning his career with Unifi at its operations facility in Letterkenny, Ireland. In 1991, Ingle moved to Winston-Salem, N.C., to work for Unifi’s U.S. operations. In his new role, Ingle will head the company’s sustainability initiatives and establish a “singular sustainability mission” for the company. Unifi’s commitment to recycling is well-known throughout the industry — the firm recently honored brands that have been “champions” of sustainability via various endeavors.
