Asian stocks faced another tough day on Wednesday and shed their value as investors continued to exercise caution amid fears of a recession in the United States.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 shed 2.3 percent to end the session at 15,713 after slumping 5.4 percent the day before. Sydney’s S&P/ASX 200 fell 1.2 percent to end at 4,776. Chinese stock markets are closed for the Lunar New Year holiday.
Fast Retailing lost 1.1 percent to end at 32,520 yen while Shiseido climbed 3.5 percent to finish at 2,207 yen. Isetan Mitsukoshi slid 4.9 percent to end at 1,262 yen.
