Asian markets gained ground Thursday after the Federal Reserve’s move to raise its key policy rate and following a rally of U.S. retail stocks.
On Thursday morning, Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 gained 1.59 percent to end the day at 19,354 while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng advanced 0.79 percent to finish at 21,872. Shanghai’s SSE Composite rose 1.8 percent to end at 3,580.
Shares in Prada last ground for a second straight day in Hong Kong. They shed nearly 7 percent on Wednesday after disappointing nine-month earnings. On Thursday, they ended down 0.61 percent at 24.60 Hong Kong dollars after shedding 3.64 percent in mid-morning trade.
