Asian stock indices are losing ground in their first day of trade since Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

As of midday Monday, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was shedding 1.64 percent while Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 was losing 1.02 percent. Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index was faring better relatively speaking, losing 0.51 percent.

Investors are also digesting Monday’s news that Japan slipped into a recession in the third quarter.
