Private equity firm The Carlyle Group has taken a majority stake in Galaxy Brand Holdings.
The stake, disclosed today, was acquired in May.
Galaxy’s portfolio includes three brands in the active sports sector: AND1, Avia and Nevados.
Galaxy’s most recent acquisition, disclosed today, is the intellectual property assets of the now defunct big box retailer Linens ‘N Things.
Linens filed for bankruptcy in 2008, and the IP was acquired by a joint venture that included Hilco Global, Gordon Brothers and Infinity Lifestyle Brands.
