Encouraging export data from China prompted a rally for Asian markets Wednesday.
Shanghai’s SSE grew 1.4 percent to end at 3,067, while Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 jumped 2.8 percent to finish at 16,381. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng advanced 3.2 percent to end at 21,159.
China’s March exports rose 11.5 percent from a year earlier, registering their first increase since June.
Chow Tai Fook gained 2 percent to end at 5.09 Hong Kong dollars. Fast Retailing catapulted 6.6 percent to end at 28,695 yen. Shiseido grew 2.8 percent to end at 2,462 yen. Onward Holdings grew 1.2 percent to end at 784 yen. Global Brands was flat at 0.93 Hong Kong dollars.
