NEW YORK — The Doneger Group and Robin Lewis are teaming up to work on projects and share clients.

Doneger is a fashion merchandising and retail consulting company and buying office, while Robin Lewis Inc. specializes in forecasting growth opportunities and strategic planning for retail and consumer products firms. Lewis, who also publishes The Robin Reports, will operate out of Doneger’s offices at 463 Seventh Avenue.

“I have always admired Robin Lewis for his big picture, strategic and long-term planning capabilities, particularly his astute analysis of the brand positioning issue that is so relevant today. We are confident that our relationship with Robin will create value-added opportunities for our clients,” said Abbey Doneger, president of Doneger Group.

Clients of Doneger will have access to presentations on business topics by Lewis, who delivers speeches at corporate meetings and seminars. Also, Lewis will be contributing to Doneger’s monthly newsletter, Business Update, though he is not becoming an employee of Doneger.

“We see a great sharing of skill bases,” Lewis said.

Doneger and Lewis will be working with the Shanghai Mart in China and will be planning a seminar there for Chinese textile and apparel executives. The Shanghai Mart is operated by the Dallas Mart. Doneger took part in a similar seminar in Shanghai in March.

“The Chinese are trying to learn more about our market and how to do more business with manufacturers and retailers,” Lewis said.
