HONG KONG — Esprit Holdings said Wednesday its first-half net profit fell more than 50 percent on a combination of factors including unusually warm weather in Europe and currency fluctuations.

Net profit for the six months ended Dec. 31 declined to 47 million Hong Kong dollars, or $6.6 million. That figure is in line with a range Esprit provided last month when it issued a profit warning.

Sales slid 16.35 percent to 10.72 billion Hong Kong dollars, or $1.38 billion.
