LONDON — Europe’s markets made small gains in late morning trading on Wednesday, with the FTSE 100 in London leading the way.
The London market was up 0.4 percent to 7,558.08, followed by the DAX in Frankfurt, 0.2 percent to 12,619.18. The CAC 40 in Paris and the FTSE MIB in Milan were both broadly flat at 5,307.01 and 20,806.08, respectively.
The euro traded at $1.12, while the pound fetched $1.28 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.02 at 12:45 p.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were uneven, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Mulberry Group, up 3.5 percent to 10.92 pounds; Asos.com, 1.4 percent to 64.57 pounds, and Compagnie Financière Richemont, 1.2 percent to 81.50 Swiss francs.
Among the morning’s biggest fallers were Yoox Net-a-porter Group, down 1 percent to 25.25 euros; Italia Independent Group, 2.3 percent to 4.34 euros; Aeffe, 1.7 percent to 1.74 euros; Metro AG, 2.4 percent to 29.89 euros and Koovs.com, 3 percent to 0.33 pounds.
