LONDON — European stock markets were broadly flat in mid-morning trading on Monday.
The CAC 40 in Paris was up 0.2 percent to 4,209.94 points, while the DAX in Frankfurt advanced 0.1 percent to 8,680.89. The FTSE 100 in London, meanwhile, was down 0.1 percent to 6,588.97, and the FTSE MIB in Milan dipped 0.04 percent to 17,962.23.
The euro traded at $1.35, while the pound fetched $1.60, and the Swiss franc equaled $1.10 at 11:30 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were mostly up, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Mulberry Group, which rose 4.3 percent to 9.99 pounds. Safilo Group advanced 2.5 percent to 15.21 euros, and Yoox.com, 2.9 percent to 28.62 euros.
Among the stocks that lost the most ground were Gemfields, down 3.4 percent to 0.25 pounds, and Asos.com lost 1.8 percent to 56.01 pounds.
