PARIS — European markets were on a growth trajectory Friday morning.
The CAC 40 in Paris and DAX in Frankfurt each rose 0.4 percent to 4,383.64 and 11,405.96 points, respectively. The FTSE 100 in London, meanwhile, advanced 0.2 percent to 7,015.39 and the FTSE MIB in Milan edged up 0.1 percent to 19,011.61.
The euro traded for $1.04 and the pound for $1.24 at 12:40 p.m. CET.
Fashion, luxury and retail stocks put on a mixed show. Among the biggest gainers was Italia Independent Group, up 10 percent to 4.62 euros, a day after it said it had completed a capital increase. Joules Group rose 4.2 percent to 2.16 pounds and Jimmy Choo advanced 2.8 percent to 1.42 pounds.
Among the stocks to fall were Luxottica Group, down 1.2 to 51.50 euros; Zalando, 1.1 percent to 35.22 euros, and Safilo Group, 1 percent to 8.11 euros.
