PARIS — European markets were mixed in Monday morning trading.
The FTSE 100 in London rose 0.6 percent to 6,695.80 points. The FTSE MIB in Milan, the CAC 40 in Paris and the DAX in Frankfurt were all virtually flat at 20,454.63, 4,338.47 and 9,660.61, respectively.
The euro was trading against the dollar at $1.37 and the pound at $1.67 at 10:55 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were mostly on the uptick, with the morning’s biggest gainers including the French Connection Group, which rose 3.5 percent to 49.30 pounds. Asos.com advanced 2 percent to 66.55 pounds, while Luxottica Group gained 1.9 percent to 39.60 euros.
Among the sectors’ stocks posting declines were Tod’s, down 1.3 percent to 101.30 euros, and Safilo Group, which dropped 1.2 percent to 16.97 euros.
