LONDON — European stock markets logged gains during midmorning trading on Monday.

The FTSE MIB in Milan was up 1.1 percent to 17692.38; followed by the DAX in Frankfurt, 0.8 percent to 9698.33, and the CAC 40 in Paris, 0.5 percent to 4325.85. The FTSE 100 in London notched 0.1 percent to 6210.44.

The euro traded at $1.13, while the pound fetched $1.41 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.04 at 10:30 a.m. CET.

Retail and luxury stocks put on a mixed show, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Carrefour, 2 percent to 24 euros; Mysale Group, 1.8 percent to 0.44 pounds, and Metro, 1.3 percent to 28.09 euros.

Among the stocks that lost the most ground were Asos, 2.5 percent to 33 pounds; Mulberry, 2 percent to 9.6 pounds, and Yoox Net-a-porter Group, 2 percent to 25.60 euros.
