LONDON – European stock markets were uneven in early trading on Wednesday.
The FTSE 100 in London and the DAX in Frankfurt both rose 0.2 percent, to 7,235.91 and 11,557.82, respectively. The FTSE MIB in Milan declined 0.3 percent to 19,236.76, while the CAC 40 in Paris fell 0.2 percent to 4,848.29.
The euro traded at $1.06 and the pound fetched $1.21 at 10:00 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were uneven, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Jimmy Choo, 2.6 percent to 1.44 pounds and MySale Group, 2.1 percent to 1.20 pounds, and Salvatore Ferragamo, 1 percent to 24.80 euros.
Among the stocks that lost the most ground was Mulberry, 2.7 percent to 10.79 pounds. Aeffe and SuperGroup both declined 1 percent, to 1.21 euros and 16.11 pounds, respectively.
