LONDON — European stock markets were on the rise in late-morning trading on Tuesday.

The CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.7 percent to 5,357.42, followed by the FTSE MIB in Milan, 0.5 percent to 21,432.74. The DAX in Frankfurt was up 0.4 percent to 12,664.49, while the FTSE 100 in London advanced 0.1 percent to 7,505.75.

The euro traded at $1.12, the pound fetched $1.30 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.02 at 11:45 a.m. CET.

Retail and luxury stocks were uneven. The morning’s biggest risers included Jimmy Choo, which was up 3.2 percent to 2.04 pounds; MySale Group, 2.4 percent to 11.10 pounds, and, 2.2 percent to 1.93 pounds.

Among the stocks that lost ground were Koovs, down 4.5 percent to 0.37 pounds; Swatch Group, 1.1 percent to 75.95 Swiss francs, and Adidas, 1 percent to 170.20 euros.
