LONDON — European stock markets were on the rise in mid-morning trading on Friday.

The the FTSE MIB in Milan advanced 1 percent to 19,350.90, followed by the CAC 40 in Paris, 0.6 percent to 4,890.58. The DAX in Frankfurt was up 0.4 percent to 11,572.22, while the FTSE 100 in London rose 0.3 percent to 7,313.69.

The euro traded at $1.06 and the pound fetched $1.22 at 11:00 a.m. CET.

Retail and luxury stocks were also on the upswing. The morning’s biggest risers included Mulberry Group, which advanced 2.2 percent to 11.14 pounds. Asos gained 1.5 percent to 54.49 pounds and Zalando, 2 percent to 39.50 euros.

Among the stocks that lost ground were Hugo Boss, down 2.5 percent to 55.01 euros; Jimmy Choo, 1.7 percent to 1.44 pounds, and, 1.2 percent to 1.44 pounds.
