LONDON — European stock markets put on an uneven performance in morning trading on Thursday.

The FTSE MIB in Milan advanced 0.3 percent to 18,720.60, followed by the DAX in Frankfurt, up 0.3 percent to 10,448.99. The FTSE 100 in London was down 0.2 percent to 6,395.77, while the CAC 40 in Paris retreated 0.1 percent to 4,588.63.

The euro traded at $1.13, while the pound fetched $1.43 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.03 at 11:00 a.m. CET. The Danish krona equaled $0.15.

Most retail and luxury stocks also put on a mixed show with morning’s biggest gainers including Koovs, 2.3 percent to 0.27 pounds; Jimmy Choo, 1.6 percent to 13 pounds, and Gemfields, 1.5 percent, to 0.42 pounds.

Among the stocks that lost ground were Hugo Boss, 3.8 percent to 58 euros; Pandora, down 2.6 percent to 821 kroner, and French Connection Group, 2.3 percent to 0.41 pounds.
