LONDON – European stock markets were mostly up in mid-morning trading on Tuesday, with the exception of the FTSE 100 in London, which dipped 0.2 percent to 7,284.71.
The DAX in Frankfurt climbed 0.5 percent to 11,884.55, followed by the FTSE MIB in Milan, 0.4 percent to 19,050.48, and the CAC 40 in Paris, 0.2 percent to 4,873.12.
The euro traded at $1.06, while the pound fetched $1.24, and the Swiss franc equaled $1.00 at 10:50 a.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were mostly uneven, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Joules Group, 1 percent to 2.32 pounds; Hugo Boss, 1.7 percent to 66.90 euros; Aeffe, 1.6 percent to 1.41 euros; and Unilever, 1.3 percent to 42.74 euros.
Among the stocks that lost the most ground were Mulberry Group, 1.1 percent to 10.95 pounds; French Connection, 1.5 percent to 0.35 pounds; and Jimmy Choo, 1.1 percent to 1.58 pounds.
