PARIS — European stock markets were uneven in mid-morning trading on Wednesday.
The CAC 40 in Paris dipped 0.2 percent to 4,841.39. The FTSE 100 in London and the FTSE MIB in Milan were both flat at 7,042.62 and at 19,240.83, respectively.
DAX in Frankfurt, meanwhile, rose 0.3 percent to 11,464.74.
The euro traded at $1.04, while the pound fetched $1.23, and the Swiss franc equaled $0.97 at 9:58 a.m. CET.
Fashion, luxury and retail stocks put on an uneven show, with the morning’s biggest gainers including Aeffe, 1.4 percent to 1.03 euros; Britain’s Bonmarché Holdings, 5.4 percent to 0.88 pounds, and Mulberry Group, 2.3 percent to 11.00 pounds.
Among the stocks to lose ground were Gemfields, 2.7 percent to 0.55 pounds; Luxottica Group, 0.8 percent to 50.75 euros, and French Connection Group, 0.76 percent to 0.33 pounds.
