The WWD Global Stock Tracker rose 0.6 percent to 113.62 today despite a modest decline on Wall Street.
The top gainer in the 100-issue tracker was Safilo Group SpA, up 4.3 percent to 13.70 euros, or $15.59. Rounding out the top three were Prada SpA, up 3.9 percent to 44.25 Hong Kong dollars, or $5.70, and Fast Retailing Co., up 3.4 percent to 44,355 yen, or $372.64.
Posting the steepest decline was Li Ning Co., down 4 percent to 3.10 Hong Kong dollars, or 40 cents at current exchange. Rounding out the top three were two American companies: Vince Holding Corp., down 3.4 percent to $23.08 and American Apparel Inc., also down 3.4 percent to 87 cents.
Most global indices ended their trading sessions on a up note.
In Europe, the DAX in Frankfurt rose 0.7 percent to 11,130.92, while the CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.7 percent to 4,862.30 and the FTSE MIB in Milan was up 0.6 percent to 21,964.29. And in Asia, the Nikkei 225 in Tokyo rose 0.7 percent to 18,466.92, while the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong inched up 0.02 percent to 24,836.76.
The exceptions included the FTSE 100 in London, down 0.04 percent to 6,912.16, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average in the U.S., down 0.1 percent to 18,116.84.
