LONDON – Europe’s stock markets were uneven in mid-morning trading on Thursday.

The FTSE 100 in London was down 0.2 percent to 6,804.12, while the CAC 40 in Paris and the FTSE MIB in Milan were both up 0.3 percent, to 4,542.35 and to 16,585.29 respectively. The DAX in Frankfurt climbed 0.4 percent to 10,702.72.

The euro traded at $1.06, while the pound fetched $1.24, and the Swiss franc equaled $0.99 at 9:50 a.m. CET.

Retail and luxury stocks were also uneven, with the morning’s biggest gainers including high street retailer Joules, 1.8 percent to 1.89 pounds;, 1.9 percent to 50.73 pounds; Geox, 1 percent to 1.91 euros; and, 1.3 percent to 1.21 pounds.

Among the stocks that lost the most ground were British stocks French Connection, 3.2 percent to 0.34 pounds, and Mulberry Group, 3.6 percent to 10.75 pounds.
