Gordon Brothers Group said Thursday that Gary Talarico has joined the firm as president and chief executive officer. Michael Frieze, who’d been interim ceo, moves to the post of chairman.
Based at the firm’s Boston headquarters, Talarico has more than 25 years of experience in investment banking. Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, he was managing partner at boutique advisory firm Cora Street Partners, and from 2004 to 2009 was a managing director at private equity firm Sun Capital Partners. Before his stint at Sun, Talarico spent five years in Tokyo as managing director of the Deutsche Bank Group and head of global corporate finance in Japan.
Of Talarico, Frieze said, “His invaluable experience as an investment banker coupled with his international expertise and overall business acumen will enable him to take over the daily management, growth and integration of our various divisions and affiliates.”
Frieze added that Talarico’s record of building businesses, including the recruitment and retention of top talent, will help Gordon Brothers strengthen its current portfolio and expand into new areas that complement its existing businesses.
Gordon Brothers, which has roots in the asset redeployment and liquidation space, has evolved into a global advisory and restructuring firm.
