Gordon Brothers Group is expanding its Latin American operations through its entry into Brazil.
The global advisory, restructuring and investment firm has added to its staff for its new São Paulo-based operation. Further, it has also formed a strategic partnership with Planconsult, a Brazilian appraisal business.
Alfredo Finotti has been named executive director, while Marcos Brandt was appointed commercial director. Both will be located in São Paulo, and the two will work under the leadership of Rafael Klotz, senior managing director of Gordon Brothers International. Finotti has nearly 35 years’ experience in marketing, retail and consumer products, and he has managed the operations of several international brands, including Seagram, LVMH, Brasif and Westinghouse. Brandt has more than 25 years’ experience with consumer products, including the areas of importation and distribution into all levels of Brazilian retail.
Ronald and Edgar Salem will head the partnership with Planconsult. Gordon Brothers said the operations would augment its valuation operations across North America, Europe and Asia, as well as support the Brazil team’s disposition and turnaround practices.
Kenneth Frieze, chief executive officer of Gordon Brothers Group, said, “Latin America is an important priority for us.” He added that the collective experience of Finotti, Brandt and that of Planconsult will “strengthen our strategic growth in this promising market.”
Ronald Salem, Planconsult’s executive director, said his company was looking forward to “expanding our capabilities by leveraging [Gordon Brothers’] global appraisal and disposition expertise.”
