PARIS – Same-store sales at H&M jumped 8 percent in April, the first positive figure since last July for the Swedish fast-fashion giant.
In local currencies, sales gained 19 percent. H&M attributed the strong gains to better spring weather across Europe in April, and easy comps. In April 2008, same-store sales fell 10 percent.
As of the end of April, H&M operated 1,804 stores, up from 1,560 a year ago.
