Hennes & Mauritz AB said same-store sales rebounded sharply in June, rising 9 percent after a 4 percent drop the previous month. Including new stores, sales for the month grew 20 percent, a strong improvement on the same period last year but slightly below analysts’ expectations. The company had previously announced that sales including new stores jumped 22 percent during the period of June 1 to June 22, after a weaker-than-expected performance in April and May due to cold weather across key markets. The Swedish fast-fashion giant declined to comment on the full-month data for June. As of the end of last month, H&M operated 2,062 stores, compared with 1,827 on June 30, 2009.
