MILAN – Italian cosmetics and powder supplier Intercos, which recently opened a 5,000-square-foot office on the West Coast, has acquired a 20 percent stake in Korean company Hana, according to media reports.

The deal with Hana, which specializes in the design and manufacturing of micro pumps, airless packaging and devices for cosmetics, was inked in July, strengthening the cosmetic firm’s position in Asia, which operates 13 plants worldwide and employs more than 3,600 people internationally.

Intercos, known for its high-tech and fashionable mascara, eye shadow, foundation, lipstick, foundation, powder, pencils, nail polish and skin-care products, achieved in 2014 a turnover of 350 million euros, or $436 million at average exchange and is expected to close 2015 with a turnover of 420 million euros, or $462 million at current exchange.

A representative of Intercos said the cosmetics firm had no official communication at this point.
