Lambertson Truex has named luxury goods veteran Giuseppe Bonfiglio as its new president.
Bonfiglio succeeds David Lamer, who left the company last month. Bonfiglio hails from Samsonite, where he has been an executive consultant for a year. Samsonite acquired Lambertson Truex in 2006, the same year it tapped former Kate Spade executive Lamer as brand president. Before working at Samsonite, Bonfiglio was a business development consultant for Etro, managed global distribution for Stella McCartney accessories and commercial director of Bottega Veneta.
Bonfiglio reports to Marcello Bottoli, chief executive officer of Samsonite Group and Lambertson Truex. The new president will be responsible for accelerating retail and wholesale development, merchandising and marketing.
“Giuseppe has an outstanding track record in the luxury industry and we feel his appointment will further reinforce the strategy we put in place in 2006,” Bottoli said.
Since the acquisition, the firm opened its first three stores in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York.
Bonfiglio will work with Truex’s co-creative directors John Lambertson and Richard Truex.
