NEW YORK — Global Licensing Co., a division of McGregor Corp., said Tuesday that McGregor coordinated sportswear for men, women and children will be produced and sold in China under a license signed with Yizheng Chemical Fibre Industries.
The deal was signed in China by Jacob Hollander, vice president of McGregor Corp., based here, and Wu Wen-Ying, chairwoman of Yizheng and of the China National Textile Ministry.
According to Global, a pilot program will be ready for this fall, and within three years the line will be carried in the 19,000 units of People’s Department Stores in 22 provinces.
The McGregor Corp. also owns the Botany 500 and Jack Pulitzer men’s sportswear names.
Headquarters for the new venture will be in Yizheng, an area north of Nanjing.
