PARIS – Swiss watch exports, battered by the economic crisis, showed a small improvement in October as their decline appeared to stabilize since the beginning of 2009.

Exports of Swiss timepieces fell 22.7 percent to 1.3 billion Swiss francs, or $1.28 billion at current exchange rates, last month,compared with a 26.1 percent drop reported in Semptember, according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry.

In the January-October period, the decline in exports remained stable at 25.5 percent.
