TOKYO—Uniqlo’s same-store sales slid 2.5 percent in October, declining for the first time since April of this year.

Uniqlo’s parent company Fast Retailing said Tuesday that unseasonably warm weather bit into customer traffic at stores. Fast Retailing said that the number of customers dropped 5.8 percent in October but noted that spending per customer rose 3.5 percent.

Fast Retailing opened ten Uniqlo stores but closed three units during the month. The same-store sales are limited to Uniqlo’s chain within Japan and exclude international operations.

Uniqlo is coming off five consecutive months of sales increases. In September, same-store sales spiked 20.8 percent.
