Sustainability consultancy Anthesis has introduced new tools and services aimed at complementing the Sustainable Apparel Coalition‘s Higg Index suite of tools.

These services are aimed at increasing supply chain engagement and insight into supply chain impacts, and support SAC’s mission of an apparel, footwear and home textiles industry that produces no unnecessary environmental harm and has a positive impact on the people and communities associated with its activities.

“Partnering with Anthesis to offer these services to our members and their supply chain partners helps us to drive Higg Adoption throughout the value chain, derive greater insight from Higg data and widen the scope of our impact within the apparel industry” said Amina Razvi, vice president of membership at SAC.

In collaboration with SAC, Anthesis has developed two main following services for SAC members and other Higg Index users.

Through Higg Index Adoption services, organizations seeking to drive usage of the Higg Index in their supply chain will benefit from a coordinated Higg adoption outreach to suppliers around the world. Anthesis will provide management and monitoring of supplier progress from end to end, as well as interactive dashboards to illustrate engagement and adoption rates at an individual factory level.

With Higg Index Advanced analytics, which aggregates and collates Higg Index assessment responses, Anthesis will provide retailers, brands and manufacturers with actionable insights into the performance of their supply chains. Displaying the results and trends in dashboard form and providing benchmarking for Higg Index scores and key metrics will enable more strategic engagement with suppliers and their customers on key impact areas.

Matt Wood, Partner at Anthesis, said of the partnership with SAC, It is very important that the value of the reported data is effectively realized. We have worked with SAC members for several years to maximize the value of supplier engagement so we have been well placed to develop this solution.”

In a move to improve supply chain methods and broaden its mission, in August SAC opened up use of its Higg Index to nonmember small- and medium-size brands and retailers. The Higg Index is SAC’s proprietary suite of tools that provides a common approach for measuring and evaluating supply chain impacts.

Anthesis in the U.S. is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, with operations in Denver and Boulder, Colo., and Seattle. The team supports clients in addressing the multitude of sustainability risks and opportunities that impact corporate strategies, operations, products and supply chains.
