Private equity firm Advent International has named Todd Lachman and Larry Bodner senior advisers.
Lachman and Bodner will advise and help the firm manage its investments in the consumer sector, working with Advent’s global retail, consumer and leisure team.
Lachman is the former global president of Mars Petcare, while Bodner is the former chief financial officer of Big Heart Pet Brands.
Jeff Case, managing director at Advent, said, “Todd and Larry’s combined expertise in the consumer sector and in managing complex global organizations will significantly enhance our ability to proactively source and execute on new investments in the consumer space.”
Advent has been investing in the retail, consumer and leisure industries for 25 years, with more than 65 transactions completed in the sector. It has relationships with industry operators as consultants to the firm. These executives help in finding investment opportunities and assist with conducting due diligence on a potential investment.
Some of Advent’s investments in the consumer space include yoga apparel firm Lululemon Athletica; Brazil’s fashion and casual wear firm Restoque SA; German retail conglomerate Douglas Holding; party goods retailer Party City; teen retailer Five Below; women’s specialty chain Charlotte Russe; French women’s wear and leather goods firm Gerard Darel, and Mexico’s largest apparel discounter Milano.
