Alessandro Bogliolo has been named chief operating officer of Sephora North America, a new position at the retailer.
Bogliolo will assume his new role Nov. 1 and will report to David Suliteanu, chief executive officer of Sephora Americas.
All Functional Leaders — Sephora’s term for senior vice presidents, including those of merchandising, marketing, digital, store operations and human resources — in North America will now report to Bogliolo.

Bogliolo was most recently chief operating officer for Bulgari; he had worked at Bulgari since 1996 in a variety of sales positions in the Southeast Asia region, including a 2001 appointment to vice president with global responsibilities for the directly owned retail network, wholesale, product development and manufacturing of jewelry, watches and accessories. He began his career in 1989 as a consultant at Bain & Co. He was promoted to chief operating officer at Bulgari in January 2009.
