The Alexis Bittar team is growing. The jewelry brand has appointed Marshall Cheek as senior vice president of global sales and merchandising. In the newly created role, Cheek will oversee wholesale sales, international sales, licensing, global planning, business development and retail buying. Cheek joins the company from Kate Spade & Company, where he served as vice preisdent of global licensing and new business. Prior to this, he held positions at Prada and Neiman Marcus. “[Cheek] brings with him great strategic and channel range, as well as strong merchant skills,” said president Taryn Laeben, whom Cheek will report to. “He will play a critical role in helping us explode the brand’s potential.” Cheek joins the company as Bittar celebrates his 25th year working with Lucite. Bittar will soon make his New York Fashion Week debut with a presentation at Cedar Lake on Feb. 18.
