According to Bittar, the brand has been preparing to enter the fine jewelry, handbag and timepiece categories since San Francisco-based equity firm TSG Consumer Products acquired a 50 percent equity stake earlier this year — and Prince was brought on board to oversee this growth.
“The expansion has been in the works since the announcement with partnering with TSG. It will be a staged approach with fine jewelry launching first and handbags to follow,” Bittar told WWD.
Prince will spearhead branding and marketing initiatives in her now role, as well as strategically launch the new categories domestically and globally.
Prince spent the past five years as Marc Jacobs Accessories vice president of sales, and prior to that served as sales director for Michael Kors Accessories from 2004 to 2007.
