Alpha Industries is growing its sales team.
The outerwear brand, which is known for its flight jacket that Kanye West helped popularize, has promoted Sean Whorton, director of North American sales, to vice president of domestic sales.
Whorton helped grow the company’s wholesale business and worked in partnership with Nutty Rice, an East Coast showroom, to bring the brand into Barneys New York this season.
Whorton has hired Sarah Ochwat as domestic sales manager; brought on Midwest sales agency Industry Sales Inc., and West Coast agency Outset Collective. The brand has also signed Forward Edge Marketing to handle military exchanges and tactical accounts.
Prior to joining Alpha, Ochwat worked at Apple as sales manager for Beats by Dr. Dre handling the fashion, sport and travel channels.
Industry Sales Inc., which is located in Burnsville, Minn., and has a showroom in Minneapolis, along with Outset Collective, which is located in Los Angeles, will both focus on increasing Alpha Industries’ lifestyle-driven accounts.
“I look forward to working with Sarah, Industry Sales, Outset Collective and Forward Edge to increase Alpha’s position in the industry,” said Whorton. “We are excited for what we have coming down the pipeline and look forward to showing our retailers and consumers new styles and trends for seasons to come.”
