Apparel consultancy firm Alvanon has announced that May Fong has joined as Asia-Pacific senior adviser. Additionally chief executive officer Janice Wang will be presenting at the HKRITA Innovation and Technology Symposium.
In this role, Fong will assist fashion businesses to recognize and address opportunities to build brand identity and revenue channels. She will also provide advisory services that will include customized best practices and solutions. “Alvanon’s existing and prospective clients throughout the Asia-Pacific arena will benefit from May Fong’s proven ability to anticipate, recognize and address their most intricate of fashion business concerns,” said Alvanon executive director Don Howard.
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and English, Fong will support the advisory service’s range of clients in the Asia-Pacific market. “May brings exceptional value to Alvanon’s knowledge base,” Howard said, “particularly in the areas of retail operations, merchandising, product development and supply chain management.”
Fong joins Alvanon from Lacoste Asia-Pacific where she acted as a senior regional product manager.
Alvanon will also be participating in HKRITA: Innovation and Technology Symposium 2016. Wang will be a featured speaker discussing disruption and innovation in high-performance apparel.
The summit will focus on integration of art and technology in the fashion industry. “High performance sportswear has been dominating the bulk of growth in the apparel market,” Wang said. “Consumers are demanding ever more personalized, more functional and more fashionable goods in a shorter space of time. We will look at the advantages of manufacturing locally and how the customer demands a more sustainable product.”
