American Eagle Outfitters named Peter Z. Horvath chief global commercial and administrative officer.
Horvath, who begins May 9, reports to Jay Schottenstein, chief executive officer. Horvath’s responsibilities include oversight for global store operations, real estate, human resources, merchandise planning and allocation, legal and corporate strategy.
Horvath has extensive retail experience. He was executive vice president, chief operating officer for Victoria’s Secret Stores, and before that was president at DSW, the footwear retailer. Outside of retail, Horvath was from January 2012 to June 2015 ceo and chairman of Mission Essential Personnel, a provider of intelligence and insight to the U.S. Departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security and Intelligence Community.
Schotttenstein said Horvath will help the company “identify new operational efficiencies and drive profitable growth.”
