DALLAS — AmericasMart Atlanta and its parent, AMC Inc., have promoted Michelle Barton to executive vice president and chief financial officer, a new position. Before she was senior vice president and cfo.

Barton joined the company in 2003 as vice president and controller and has continually assumed additional responsibilities. About 18 months ago she was given oversight of strategic technology enhancements and registration services, a spokesman said.
Barton began her career in 1986 at Ernst & Young and later served as corporate controller of New World Communications Group before its acquisition by News Corp.
