Penske Media Corp.’s WWD has named Arthur Zaczkiewicz executive editor of strategic content development.
This is a new position at the company. Zaczkiewicz,, formerly deputy editor of data and analysis at WWD, will lead efforts to identify and develop special reports, projects, white papers and new content platforms. He will continue to oversee WWD’s Think Tank, a series of articles written by industry experts, as well as the publication’s weekly Data Points page.
“The industry is experiencing an incredible evolutionary step, and WWD and Fairchild are responding to these changes by delivering more meaningful and analytical content,” said PMC chief executive officer Jay Penske. “This new role will meet the market’s need for deeper data and actionable information.”
Zaczkiewicz will work closely with Fairchild’s editorial, events and sales and marketing teams to deliver content aimed at bolstering the market intelligence of the fashion apparel, retail, accessories and luxury segments.
“Arthur has been an integral part of the evolution of WWD as we enter this new era,” said WWD editor in chief Edward Nardoza. “His experience in news gathering and analysis as well as in developing proprietary reports has helped solidify WWD’s position as the industry’s leader in business reporting.”
Zaczkiewicz will work with industry stakeholders to bring a new dimension to content delivery as the market experiences seismic changes due to technological advances and shifting consumer preferences.
“Arthur’s expansive knowledge of the industry will translate incredibly well to helping us create new revenue streams and ancillary products for our brands,” said Paul Jowdy, WWD senior vice president and group publisher.
Zaczkiewicz was named deputy editor in March 2015. Prior to that, he served as a business administrator with the County of Ulster, N.Y., where he counseled business owners, produced events and worked with public officials and businesses. He also previously served as senior editor of WWD and financial editor of then-WWD parent Fairchild Publications.
