PARIS — Baccarat has named Françoise Labro to the newly created post of artistic director, effective since May 5, it announced on Monday.
Reporting to chief executive officer Daniela Riccardi, Labro will work as a consultant to Baccarat and is charged with forming its artistic committee.
She will also be responsible for coordinating the crystal glassmaker’s various collections and advising Baccarat on the creation of new products designed to strengthen the identity of the brand, which this year celebrates its 250th anniversary.
A former journalist specializing in shelter publications, Labro spent 18 years at Ralph Lauren, namely as senior vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Russia at Ralph Lauren Home. She heads her own luxury consulting service, Studio Labro.
James Taffin de Givenchy, who was named creative director of Baccarat in October 2012, has left the company and his post has been eliminated, a spokeswoman said.
