Russ Hardin, a veteran of creative positions at leading department stores, has joined The Bon-Ton Stores as vice president of creative for print and web.

Hardin will be formulating creative strategies for print and e-commerce campaigns, and will manage Bon-Ton’s in-house photo studio. The regional department store operator, based in York, Pa. and Milwaukee, Wisc., said Hardin will be “guiding execution of innovative advertising and marketing campaigns representing Bon-Ton branding through concept, design, photography and copy.” Hardin succeeds Barb Pellegrino, who was vice president of creative for print and web.

Most recently, Hardin was the owner and creative director of the ChristensenHardin branding and consulting firm which he closed to take the job at Bon-Ton.  Before that, he was senior vice president and chief creative officer for the Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor divisions of Hudson’s Bay Co.; vice president of creative brand management for Kohl’s Corp.; senior vice president of creative brand management for Saks Fifth Avenue, and global vice president of global brand image development at Avon Products Inc.
