Bonobos Inc. has hired Ron Thurston, formerly of Tory Burch, as its director of retail to oversee the company’s existing Guideshop locations while leading the growth, development, and operation of the shops into new markets.

Guideshops are retail locations where customers can sample and order product from the online business that is then delivered to their homes. They do not carry inventory.

Thurston will work closely with corporate and regional teams on store design, merchandising, product assortment and real estate decisions, and will report to Andy Dunn, chief executive officer and founder of Bonobos Inc.

“While we believe the future is digital, we understand that great in-person experiences aren’t going anywhere,” Dunn said.

Thurston is a 20-year veteran and served most recently as West Coast regional manager for Tory Burch, where he opened several stores in Southern California. Prior to that, he worked at Apple, West Elm, Gap, and Gap Kids.
