NEW POST: Meenal Mistry is joining Bottega Veneta as senior director, global editorial content and copy, a newly created position, starting Aug. 21.
Mistry served as fashion director of Off Duty at The Wall Street Journal from August 2012 to August 2017, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Prior to that, she was a self-employed writer and editor between 2006 and 2012. Mistry held the position of fashion news editor at W Magazine and WWD from September 2002 to July 2006.
She will be based in Bottega Veneta’s New York office.
Revenues at Bottega Veneta rose 1.7 percent in the second quarter on a comparable basis, following a 2.3 percent increase in the first quarter, with parent company Kering reporting “encouraging signs” that efforts to turn around the struggling brand were starting to bear fruit.
Jean-François Palus, group managing director at Kering, said the brand would soon undergo a “radical reset” of its communications strategy with a heavy digital component.
“We are confident that we have taken the right steps to return Bottega Veneta to profitable growth and prepared the groundwork for H2 and beyond,” he said, adding that the full effect of these measures would likely not be felt before the first quarter of 2018.
