MILAN — Brioni has tapped Paul Buckter as chief executive officer of North American operations.

Buckter, who began his career as a retail associate at Barneys New York, has extensive experience in the luxury men’s wear industry. He joins Brioni from Canali, where he has been wholesale director for North America for the past three years. Prior to Canali, the executive was senior vice president of retail at Escada, responsible for all merchandising and operations of the brand’s 17 directly owned boutiques in the U.S. and Canada and, before that, he worked for eight years at Hugo Boss USA.
At Brioni, Buckter succeeds Todd T. Barrato.
