Carbon38 has named Helena Kaylin as the brand’s chief merchandising officer, effective immediately.
Kaylin was previously global vice president of merchandising for Lululemon Inc. Her experience includes past stints in the activewear sector at Under Armour Inc., Uniqlo Inc., Calvin Klein Underwear and Victoria’s Secret.
In her new role at Carbon 38, Kaylin will be in charge of expanding the brand’s private label, technical design and innovation capabilities. She will also lead future growth and long-term strategies for the merchandising and retail departments. She will be based in Los Angeles, and will be a member of the executive team. In her role, Kaylin will work closely with Katie Warner Johnson, cofounder and chief executive officer, to create and execute the strategy and growth plans for the brand.
Kaylin called the timing of her joining Carbon 38 as perfect, citing “current retail expansion plans starting with the opening of the Carbon38 Hamptons pop-up this summer, as well as the flagship store opening in Pacific Palisades in the fall.”
Johnson said the company has “reached a new phase of growth and visibility, and with Helena’s addition we continue to raise the bar and our sights. Her deep domain expertise and leadership is just the addition we need as we continue on our path to build the next global leader in women’s active fashion.”
Carbon38 is an activewear brand targeting the luxury marketplace.
