PARIS — Carrefour chief executive officer Georges Plassat has undergone surgery for an undisclosed ailment and has appointed two deputy CEOs to temporarily assist him during his recovery, the retailer said on Monday.
The company’s board of directors has accepted the nomination of chief financial officers Pierre-Jean Sivignon and general secretary Jérôme Bédier. “They each retain their current responsibilities and remain in close contact with Georges Plassat,” Carrefour said.
Georges Ralli was also appointed vice chairman of the board of directors.
A spokeswoman for Carrefour said Plassat was recovering well but did not provide any indication of how long his convalescence would last.
