PARIS — Cecilie Thorsmark is set to become chief executive officer of Copenhagen Fashion Week, effective Nov. 1.
A former head of press and communications for the event, she will succeed Camilla Frank, who has held the position since December 2016.
Thorsmark’s appointment follows two years as communications director for Global Fashion Agenda, the Danish forum on sustainability in fashion, a theme she will be further developing within her new role.
“I plan to work to reinforce Copenhagen Fashion Week’s sustainability profile and to create an international platform with Scandinavian fashion as its driving force,” she said in a statement.
Copenhagen Fashion Week, which takes place in January and August, benefited a strategic revival in 2017 let by analytics company Qvartz. The latest edition, which ran Aug. 7 to 10, featured more than 30 designers, including Ganni, Rodebjer, Cecilie Bahnsen and Saks Potts.
