NEW YORK — Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc. has promoted Jeffrey A. Cohen to president, effective immediately. He has been executive vice president of the timepiece company since June 2010 and succeeds Laurence Grunstein, who revealed his retirement last month.
In addition to nearly three decades of experience in the watch community and active roles in the 24 Karat Club, JCK Advisory Board and Jewelry Information Center, Cohen was president worldwide of Movado before joining Citizen’s team.
In his new role, Cohen is now responsible for all sales, marketing, product development, distribution and finance initiatives in the United States, Caribbean, Canada and the United Kingdom.
“The appointment of Jeffrey Cohen to president marks the start of a new era at Citizen. Jeffrey’s extensive watch experience in markets outside of Citizen’s provides a fresh perspective as to how Citizen will retain its top market position in the future,” said Tetsuo Nakano, chairman of Citizen.
Additional promotions — all of which will report to Cohen — include that of Carl A. Mielke to executive vice president, sales for the U.S. market; J. Kevin Kaye to president of Citizen Watch Company of Canada, Ltd; and Alan Mace to managing director of Citizen Watch United Kingdom, Ltd.
